Abby’s homework assignment was to pick a page from a book that was sent home that had stickers on it and tell a story. Her story went like this:

For those of us without amazing eyesight, the story reads:

In the beginning there was a race. And then Lightning McQueen was losing. And then Lightning McQueen was in a new car world. And then Lightning McQueen said, “Lightning McQueen is a famous racecar.” And then he said, “Aww man! My lucky sticker is dirty!”
One of the cars said, “She was laughing about Alani.” And then the cars raged along another race. And then Lightning McQueen won! And the second race he won again and again.

Mommy helped write the story down, but it was ALL Abby’s imagination.

Abby has been trying to learn some Spanish. She knows ‘hola’, but she wanted to learn how to count. So, yesterday she said, “Daddy, I can count in Spanish. Do you want to hear me?” I replied “Of course!”

“Unos, dos, fred”

“Umm … Abby, I think to say three in Spanish it’s tres.”

“Daddy … that’s too hard to say!”

So, yeah … from now of if you want to say three in Spanish from now on, you need to say fred.

M & M commercial

A couple of nights ago you crawled into bed with me and mommy as we were watching TV. You fell asleep and woke up just as an M&M commercial came on. When you saw it you said, “Mama … it’s M&M’s! And they’re talking!” We weren’t sure if you thought you were dreaming or if you realized it was the TV, but needless to say, it was one of the funniest things ever!

Abby: Mommy … what’s the name of the clown at Christmas?

Mommy: Santa Clause?

Abby: Yeah. That’s him … Santa Clown.

Cinderella

We borrowed Cinderella from the library last week because you REALLY like the TWO Cinderella books that you have. I have now watched it, nearly all the way through, 3 times. Mommy is somewhere near 8 or 9 and you are at nearly 15 … I’m pretty sure.

I’d be a lot more worried about the whole thing, except that you are so funny when you watch it.
