Now I am feeling better. That was just a false start last week. Now, except for this cough that JUST WON’T GO AWAY, I’m much better now. So, I’m going to get back into a daily-ish picture, some running commmentary on just how cool it is to be your dad, and an update on other things going on.
First thing, last night your Great-grandfather (my grandfather) Bob (we called him Pa, not to be confused with Papa) died in Palm Springs. He was diagnosed with Cancer several months ago, but that’s not what lead to his passing. It was just his time to go and he’ll be sorely missed. I wish I could write about that ONE great memory I had with him, but honestly, I can’t. I just have this feeling from being a kid and knowing how cool he was. He lived with me when we were all out in Illinois and I remember, when back in California, wishing that he’d come out to live with us again. He eventually did move out to California, but not to live with us. He was a cool old guy and I’m bummed that he’s gone. Although he was quite and reserver, that will be missing from all of our family get-togethers and that makes me sad. He liked Black coffee, any time, day or night. I’ve never seen anyone able to drink a full cup of black coffee and then take a nap, again, anytime day or night. Like I said, he’ll be missed, we love and miss you Pa.
On to something a little lighter. Last night you and I were watching game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals (because secretly we’re Canadians!) and you said Poke Check! Holy Crap, if that wasn’t the coolest thing since you recognized Hockey on the TV, even though we don’t watch a lot of it. It’s like you ‘Just Know’ about hockey. I’m thinking maybe you’ve got a little bit of the Canadian knowledge in your head from some previous ancestor or something.
Anyway, now it’s time to get back on track. More postings to come internets … I promise!
