A new table and chairs
March 31st, 2008
Today was highlighted by the new table and chairs Uncle Jim and Aunt Carolyn got for you. You seemed so excited about them! I liked watching you and Mommy sit and color.
Later Mommy went out for a walk so it was just the two of us. During Dobby we went outside to ‘play’ where we threw and kicked the ball and looked at the stars. I asked you where the moon was and after looking all around for a couple of seconds you said, “It’s miss!”. And then you tried to jump up and get it. I thought I was going to die laughing. You kept jumping with your arms in the air, saying ‘JUMP!’ and trying to get to the moon that had yet to rise (or already set depending on your point of view).
Truly an awesome time.
Bubbles
March 30th, 2008
Mommy took this picture a couple of days ago. The two of you were playing with the bubbles from your birthday party. I think it’s a pretty good picture, what do you think?
Today we got to hang out on our own. I seemed to have slept most of the day away while you played and played and played. It was pretty funny each time you’d come and wake me up.
Anyway, I had a good time, and I think you did too.
We did all of these cool things today …
March 29th, 2008
We did all of these cool things today, but I forgot the camera, so here’s a picture of you in your jammies.
This morning we went to the Farmers’ Market out in Palm springs and then we went to the Living Desert. Mommy did you hair in a set of really cute pig tails, and you had such a good time, but since I left the camera in the car (and it turns out the card at home) we got exactly zero pictures
Right now, you’re running around with the white thing in the picture on your head as a hat. I think you just ran into the wall. It’s pretty funny to see.
We’re also watching the Dodgers play the Red Sox at the LA Coliseum. This is a very strange game to watch, partly because they’re in a National League ‘park’ playing American League rules, but mostly because of the strange configuration of the field of play. The left fielder (Andre Either) is basically playing at short stop because the field is so misshapen (LF wall is 201′ with a 65′ screen will be in place;RF is 440). It’s a crazy game and I’m loving every minute of watching it with you.
But, now it’s time for nigh-nigh.
Chilling on the Sofa
March 28th, 2008
This introspective look was taken while we were watching Dobby. And although you were still calling out letters as though we were watching Fitch, it sure was fun. Earlier in the night we were playing ‘nigh-nigh’. This game involves pretending we’re asleep and then you yelling in my ear, patting my face and throwing your elbow into my chest like you were a hockey player. Good times! That went well until you turned and bumped your head on the corner on Mommy’s night stand. Then you were done playing and wanted nothing more than to watch the news. Well, it was fun while it lasted … except for the elbows ![]()
Finding Easter Eggs!
March 27th, 2008
OK … OK, I admit it. This picture is from like a week ago. I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to get some pictures of you.
When I got home from work today you were asleep. Now, this isn’t a huge deal … except that it was almost 6 o’clock! Apparently you went down a little late for your nap. You didn’t wake up until almost 6:45!
So you got up and took a bath. Well, bath time is a long, complicated process involving lots of playing and splashing so you didn’t get out of there until almost 7:30 and missed most of Fitch.
After the bath I dutifully got you some milk and we watch Dobby and then it was time for nigh-nigh. I think this might have been the shortest night with you ever!
Here’s hoping we have a lot of fun playing in the yard this weekend!
