Abby and Daddy swinging!

Abby and Daddy swinging!

Today we went to the park and swung on the swings. We also played on the slide and walked around in the dirt. We had the park to ourselves for a while and then some other little girls showed up.

At first you didn’t really want anything to do with them, but then you decided that you really wanted to get on the slide, so we had to go over and let them be near you. Oh the horror!

But you did just fine. You even walked right by one of them on the way up to the top of a slide (which I showed you how to climb up … I was so proud).

After the park we had lunch and then came home where we all promptly fell asleep for the rest of the afternoon. I think Mommy and I would have still been asleep if you hadn’t woken up!

Ahh … what a great day at the park.

It’s rain … from the sky!

It's rain ... from the sky!

Today it rained … as in water fell from the sky … as in ‘Mama, rain, ky!’ which is what you blurted out after realizing that it was raining outside and were wondering why you weren’t out there with it.

So, Mommy got you out of your eating chair and took you outside where you proceeded to play in the rain.

It’s strange to see rain in the desert, but so much fun to watch you play in it.

Abby and her kickin new Chucks

Abby and her kickin new Chucks

Ha! Fooled you! I bet you thought this would be a picture of Abby with new Chucks … and it is sort of. It’s just not the Abby you were expecting. It’s Abby Cadabby with the new Chucks. Mommy put them on for you, but this was all your idea. Before the shoes went on Abby Cadabby had to get a diaper changed. It was just like we do with you.

Looking at the Lunar Eclipse

Looking at the Lunar Eclipse

Tonight was a Lunar eclipse … the last for a couple of years in North America. The view for most of it was blocked by clouds but we caught the tail end of it. You were pretty freaked out by the reddish cast of the moon, but you were able to identify that it was indeed the moon.

I’d like to say that I’ve always had a passion for astronomy and I hope you get it, but my interest in astronomy waxes and wains much like the moon. Hopefully you’ll be a little more into than I am. It really is an interesting subject … if only I had the focus :)

A is for Abby …

A is for Abby ...

Today you were a little ball of energy! You and Mommy went to the Library for story time today. You however, were not excited about the ‘Berry’ as you call it and were only coaxed into entering the building when Mommy assured you that your friend Chloe was going to be there. Once inside though you looked from ‘Chowie’ and when you didn’t find her you gave Mommy a very stern look and said in your meanest voice ‘Chowie!’

All was not lost though as Mia was there with her Mommy so you had a friend to play with. You were a little mean to her though from what I understand, which is something we’re going to have to deal with.
