Today we went to the Park again! This time though, instead of being completely closed off to the world, you were quite the little go getter. You went down the bog kid slide AND the big kid spiral slide. It was awesome to watch. You were so excited about it. You’d climb up the steps, walk across a little bridge, get to the top of the slide and then come down and do it all over again.
Finley and Finley’s Mummy came too and you were so good with Finley. You even almost kind of said her name when you wanted her to be on the swings with you. It was an awesome day, and makes up for the fact that we won’t be able to go anywhere tomorrow because it’s suppose to rain all day long.
Today you got to hang out with Aunt Mary, or as you now call here, An May-ee. Mommy dropped you off over there early this afternoon and then went to work. While we were both at work you played hard with Aunt Mary, going on a couple of walks AND playing in the backyard. The only time you fell asleep was during a 45 minute break when you slept on Aunt Mary.
I heard you were also the good eater … well, when it comes to eating crackers and animal cookies! That’s why Aunt Mary is cool though. She’ll let you eat whatever you want
We wound down tonight by watching some Wheel of Fortune. You did a really good job of calling out letters (not just T) and you even got some vowels out, although I’m not sure you had the money to buy the vowels.
Both Mommy and Daddy were working today, so we didn’t get a chance to take a picture of you. I heard you had quite the eventful day. You played at Mia’s house (I heard you were a very good sharer) and did really well without Mommy. I’m very glad to hear that.
Hopefully I can get a good picture tomorrow. All of this working is for the birds I tell you.
Today Mommy was working so you and I hung out for the whole day. We started watching Sesame Street on the sofa (I fell back asleep and you sat next to me drinking milk). The next thing I knew Curious George was on and I decided to get off the sofa so I wouldn’t stay asleep!
We bummed around for a while and then made our way to a park to meet up with Shari, Finley and Patrick. It was a lot of fun … especially when you finally came out of your shell. For the first part of our morning it was just the two of us on the swings … and then on the slide and then the rocker toys. But then people started showing up and you crawled as far into you shell as you could
Once Finley et al. arrived you were still a little shy, but we got you playing with a ball and with Finley (a little) so you finally started to look like you were having a good time.
I had a really good day today (except when you took your pants and diaper off during nap time). Although you weren’t super pleased that Mommy went to work, I think you had a good time too.
We didn’t get to see each other much tonight, but the time we did spend together was really cool. We got home from taking Mommy to a get together with her friends and you had been talking about nothing but Elmo from the time we dropped her off until we got home (well, that and your missing shoes … but that’s a different story).
Once we got home I turned the TV on and prepared myself for 45 minutes of Elmopalozza. But as the TV turned on and you saw Jeopardy! you changed you tune. I asked you if you wanted to watch Elmo and you shook your head and said no. So we changed into our Jammies, sat on the sofa and watched Jeopardy! You were so cuddly it was awesome. You kept leaning your head on my shoulder and were just so sweet … it was indescribable the feeling it gave me.
I don’t know that I’ve ever felt so much love coming from you as I did tonight. And it couldn’t have come at a better time.
