Bath Time

Bath Time

Today I went with you and Mommy to one of your meetups. It was so much fun watching you run around like a crazy girl and see you interact with everyone. When we left you even blew a kiss at Finley. It was so very cool to see.

This has been an amazing year. I’ve watched you go from a little crawling baby to a walking/running/talking little person. It’s been a truly life changing experience for me. We watched a lot of Dodger games, went to the park and made so many friends.  You had your first birthday and went on your first long vacation.

There were so many awesome and wonderful things that I’ll remember from this year, and since I’m writing this you’ll be able to relive some of it.

I hope that 2008 is more fun than this year (if that’s possible!). I hope that as we make our way through the uncharted territory that is 2008 we laugh more, play more and enjoy life to the fullest.

I love you very much.

Words

I’m amazed at the word explosion you have had lately.  But that’s the way it works, it seems.  You will pick up a word here and there, but usually your word acquisition comes in bursts.  All of a sudden you’ll have 5 or 6 new words out of the blue.  Your latest words are:  milk, pants, shirt, night-night, cookie, and cake.  Oh, and my favorite:  nice.  As a descriptor for something that just happened.  For example, you threw the ball at Grandma Janie’s house last night and then said, “nice”.  Complimenting your own skillz (yes, with a z).  Nice.

As we were getting ready to go to grandma Janie’s house I did something I’d never done before.  I put on one of your shoes without tying it. I wanted to loosen up the other shoe before I put it on and as I was messing with the other shoe you tried to tie it. I called out to Mommy and told her to bring the camera so we could get a picture of you in action.

You never were able to get your shoe tied, but it sure was fun watching you try.

Today we went to the Children’s Discovery Museum and met up with your buddy Finley and her Mummy Shari. There were so many people there, I wasn’t sure how you’d react … but you were a champ. All of the other kids and grown ups didn’t even phase you. You’re such a grown up now. It’s so cool watching you become this full fledged person that deals with situations.

After the museum we went to lunch and then home. You played so hard at the museum that on the way home you crashed hard. Even when I got you out of the car seat once we were home you barely even opened your eyes. I took off your shoes and took you to your crib where you laid down without even one peep. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you crash that hard. Good playing today.

Grandma Paula took this picture at Christmas.

Mommy and I can’t believe how grown up you look! It’s like seeing another person … and it absolutely amazes me.

Today you and Mommy came by the office and you were so cuddly and cute I didn’t want you to leave (or didn’t want to have to stay). It really broke my heart to watch you go because you were just hugging me and patting me on the back. It made my heart swell!
