Last night the power went out so we all headed over to Aunt Carolyn’s house. Mommy was going over there to go to a Gold party, so the two of us tagged along. You found this small chair in the craft room and you had so much fun with it. You’d climb onto it, get situated and then tell me I had to sit in ‘my chair’. Then you’d cross your legs, smile and say cheese while I took a picture. Then you’d get down, run out through the living room and to the kitchen. Once there you’d make your way around the island and then head back to the craft room. Sometimes you’d try to get a pretzel, but mostly you just wanted to get up and run around. It was so much fun! And a little bit tiring for Daddy.
We went out for dinner tonight. When it was time to get in the car you were not pleased with the situation. I took a page from the bad parenting book and bribed you with promises of Elmo when we got home. This lead to a giggle and loud shrieks of pleasure on the way home in between screaming Elmo’s name as loud as you could.
Once we got home you wanted into you jammies and then Elmo turned on. The next thing I knew you were sitting on your upside down xylophone and watching Elmopalooza (what else?!).
Mommy took this picture of you. Last night we introduced the blanket and the pillow to see how you’d react. When we laid you down with it last night you pushed the pillow to the side and scrunched a corner of the blanket into one of your tiny hands and slept that way for the entire night.
We’re hoping that you’ll start to use the blanket as intended since you refuse to keep socks on at night, won’t wear footie pajamas, and it’s starting to get cold (relatively speaking!). Hopefully tonight you’ll leave the blanket covering you up, just the way I left you.
Tonight I turned on Elmopalooza for you while I took care of some household chores. Usually you’ll be sitting on the sofa while the movie is on, but tonight you decided to park yourself as close to the TV as you could. This of course caused you to have to crane your neck up to watch. Right before I moved you to the couch (and a safe distance for watching TV), I snapped this picture.
Tonight you REALLY wanted to go out to the car. Mommy says that when you got home from the grocery store earlier today you didn’t want to leave your car seat … at all.
So I went out there with you and got a cute picture and some video. I don’t know why this is so much fun for you, but I don’t really need to. You have such a good time just doing whatever.
