Last night while Mommy was at the movies we were hanging out watching the Dodgers (lose to the Astros … grrr!). Your milk was on top of an end table and I got up to hand it to you. Your response? To look up at me with your back arched and then look down on the ground, shrugging your shoulders with an air about you that said, “You just don’t understand me.”
I nearly wet myself laughing so hard. Your cousin Tanner does that same thing.
When you eat yogurt with your hands, you end up with it in your hair … and on your face … and arms … and clothes
We all went to the River today … no not the one where people with big boats and lots of beer hang out, but the outdoor mall in Rancho Mirage. We ate lunch and then went with Brian to Borders to buy a couple of books. It was a good time. You were running all around, picking things up and then trying to put them back where they belonged, sometimes more successfully than others. At one point you sat down on a low shelf (something Mommy says you try to do all the time) and looked at me and pointed next to where you were sitting. It was very cute. I really wanted to sit next to you on the shelf, but I was afraid that my adult girth would have broken something, so I sat on the floor in front of you instead.
You also did a very good job of holding my hand while we walked through the parking lot. All in all, I had a good time hanging out with you, and I hope (and think) you had a good time hanging out with me.
I came home yesterday after a day that wasn’t great. But you know what was great … when you came and greeted me at the door, all smiles and looking cute as can be in a little pink dress. I took off my shoes and dropped my bag and sat with you on the floor and we played a little bit and I gave you a hug and a kiss and instantly my day was a million times better.
It’s been a while since my last post. Harry Potter’s last book came out on Friday and I’ve been reading it every moment I’ve had.
We went to grandma Paula’s house on Saturday and went swimming. It was a good time. You finally liked the boat grandma bought you … for a while anyway. You also really liked the shelf she has at the shallow end of the pool. You spent a ton of time up there, giggling and laughing and have a grand old time. All in all, it was a successful day at the pool.
Here’s some video of you enjoying the boat:
